"Very important. General rule for English speakers - if you don’t do it in the human context, don’t do it in the nonhuman context.
Just make a little effort to say “she or he” or “her or him” if you don’t know the sex. It’s a little effort with a very important social message.
Nonhuman animals are *persons*, not *things*. Therefore, we should refer to a nonhuman animal as a “she” or “he,” never as an “it.””

The Splendour in the Grass lineup is pretty rad. If this years Falls lineup is as good I will have to brave camping again.

Does anyone else get apprehensive when approaching a closed gate? No? Just me then.

Gates can have a variety of latch and locking mechanisms and there have been countless times when I’ve been confounded as to how to open them.

I frequently end up looking like an idiot trying to undo a gate. I am not good at practical things.
